Technically, Moldavite isn't a crystal, it's a member of the Tektite group. It was formed 15 millions years ago by a meteoric crash to the Bohemian plateau of the Czech Republic (the only location of Moldavite). The event that gave birth to Moldavite was one of tremendous power, far more than all the atom bombs on Earth. The meteorite is believed to have passed completely through the Earth's crust, to the liquid iron at the planet's core, causing the reversal of the Earth's magnetic poles. The heat this impact created, was high enough to vaporize rock, and basically everything in its path. The vapour that cooled down in the atmosphere, turned to rain and that liquid eventually created the moldavite pieces we can now hold and connect with today.
